 Audit Department
The audit department is the primary department that investigates issues about how law firms handle trust funds. The auditors conduct spot (surprise) audits on law firms to ensure that they are adhering to Part 5 of the Trust Accounting Rules of the Law Society of Alberta.
As well, the auditors take a proactive role in providing assistance to lawyers by holding annual trust accounting seminars, where lawyers and their staff can learn more about trust accounting and reporting requirements.
