One hundred years almost to the day after the Territorial Supreme Court was replaced by the Alberta Supreme Court, the legal profession will begin to enjoy a futuristic new courthouse - perhaps the best in the country. To celebrate the passing of time, the Court of Queen's Bench and the Provincial Court are creating a TIME CAPSULE OF JUSTICE. Objects, documents and photos that represent the current justice system and touch on the nature of our culture will be stored in a drum and sealed. Before the end of 2007, the drum will be ensconced in the lobby of the North Tower of the Calgary Courts Centre and left there in public view for fifty years. In 2057, the drum will be opened.
