The Honourable A. Anne McLellan
The Honourable A. Anne McLellan, P.C. served as Deputy Prime Minister of Canada and as the first Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness in the government of Paul Martin (December 2003 - January 2006). Ms. McLellan served four terms as the Liberal Member of Parliament for Edmonton Centre as well as terms as Minister of Health, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and Minister of Natural Resources and Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians. From 1976 to 1980, Ms McLellan was an assistant professor of law at the University of New Brunswick. From 1980 to 1992, she served as associate professor of law, associate dean, and as acting dean with the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta. Scholar in Residence at the University of Alberta in the newly established Institute for United States Policy.
Professor Harry Arthurs
Former Dean of Osgoode Hall Law School and former President of York University, Harry Arthurs is one of Canada's leading labour law scholars. He has written extensively on labour law, administrative law, law and globalization, legal ethics, and governance of the legal profession. Professor Arthurs served as dean of the school from 1972 to 1977, and president of York from 1985 to 1992. Recently, the Fellows of the British Academy elected Arthurs to be a Corresponding Fellow, a scholar of international distinction. Professor Arthurs holds seven honourary degrees, is an Officer of the Order of Canada, a Member of the Order of Ontario, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.  |
